Meet the Band

Five bloodlines. Five traditions. One sound forged beneath eternal night.
Ebonreach is a cross-faction gothic-metal band uniting a Twilight Fae vocalist, an Ironfang werewolf war-singer, a Vesperin vampire guitarist, an Astral Chorus mage drummer, and an Ironbound hunter bassist. Their music combines haunting melody, controlled ferocity, aristocratic precision, ritual rhythm, and mortal resolve.
How the Band Began
The five first played together during a Veil tremor at the Vellum Exchange, neutral ground where every faction conducts business under an uneasy peace. When the disturbance extinguished the lamps and sent supernatural resonance through the crowd, Seraphine Duskwillow began a dusk-lament to keep panic from spreading.
Garrick Moonrend answered with an Ironfang rallying howl. Lucien Vesperblood discovered the harmony hidden between them and joined on guitar. Orin Ashveil measured the fracture’s pulse and imposed a stabilizing rhythm. Mara Blackthorn heard what the others had missed: their sound had power but no anchor. Her bass line grounded the composition—and the Veil tremor subsided.
No prophecy had assembled them. No faction had authorized the collaboration. The crowd demanded another song. Seraphine named them Ebonreach, after the city that had nearly broken around them and the shared home none of their factions could claim alone.
Seraphine Duskwillow — The Gloamvoice
Role: Fae lead vocalist and lyricist
Court: Court of Dusk
Creed: The Creed of the In-Between
Seraphine was trained in the Gloamspire Realms as a keeper of farewell hymns. Her haunting voice carries restrained twilight magic, allowing a performance to reveal memories and emotions normally hidden beneath certainty. Elegant, mournful, and commanding, she is Ebonreach’s principal storyteller and emotional compass.
Her black feather-and-lace stagewear, silver thorn filigree, lavender eyes, and violet fae-light embody the beauty and danger of dusk. She proposed the band’s name and its founding rule: every member keeps their identity, but no faction commands the song.
Garrick Moonrend — The Warhowl
Role: Werewolf co-lead vocalist
Tribe: Ironfang Tribe
Creed: The Code of the Unbroken Fang
Garrick once used his voice to keep Ironfang warriors moving through terror and exhaustion. He left active war leadership after refusing to sacrifice younger pack members for symbolic ground. He remains loyal to Ironfang discipline but believes strength exists to protect the pack—and that a pack may be chosen.
Onstage, Garrick is Ebonreach’s raw force: a towering charcoal-and-silver werewolf in battered leather and a torn crimson scarf. His growls, roars, and powerful clean vocals never descend into mindless rage. Every howl is controlled, purposeful, and protective.
Lucien Vesperblood — The Velvet Virtuoso
Role: Vampire lead guitarist and arranger
Clan: Clan Vesperin
Faction: Crimson Concord
Raised in Clan Vesperin’s silent Courts of Echoes, Lucien learned to treat timing, posture, and attention as instruments of influence. Music gave him a way to reveal the emotional truth beneath diplomatic masks. His black-and-crimson bat-wing guitar, immaculate technique, and aristocratic danger make him the band’s virtuoso showman.
Lucien manages negotiations and contracts, but he cannot bind the group without unanimous consent. The rule irritates his Vesperin instincts—and is one of the reasons the others trust him.
Orin Ashveil — The Thunder Measure
Role: Mage drummer and arcane-stage engineer
Coven: The Astral Chorus
Doctrine: Celestial Harmony
Orin hears the cosmic lattice as rhythm: orbital cycles become tempo, gravity becomes downbeat, and magical disturbance becomes syncopation. He proved that Veil fluctuations could sometimes be mapped more accurately through percussion than through diagrams, a discovery that placed him at odds with traditional Astral scholars.
Behind his rune-lit black-metal drum kit, Orin performs with ritual precision. Blue sigils and restrained lightning answer his strikes. He designs the band’s protective wards and possesses absolute authority to cancel a performance if a venue cannot contain its supernatural resonance.
Mara Blackthorn — The Mortal Pulse
Role: Hunter bassist and security strategist
Creed: The Ironbound
Oath: Stand unbroken against the dark.
Mara is a mortal Hunter trained in defensive formations, field coordination, and survival. She has no innate magic and wants none. Her steadiness comes from discipline, preparation, reinforced equipment, and the refusal to surrender her judgment to supernatural spectacle.
She initially joined Ebonreach to supervise its supernatural members. She stayed because their first song saved lives. Mara’s four-string bass supplies the grounding pulse beneath every performance, while her uncompromising rule defines the group’s purpose: no faction owns the stage, and no audience becomes collateral.
One Band, Five Factions
Ebonreach is not politically neutral; its members disagree too deeply for that fiction. Instead, the band is independent. Seraphine carries the ambiguity of the Court of Dusk. Garrick brings Ironfang discipline. Lucien bears Vesperin elegance and perception. Orin channels the ordered resonance of the Astral Chorus. Mara stands as the Ironbound mortal conscience holding them to account.
Their music does not erase those conflicts. It gives them rhythm. Hear them on Spotify or explore The Cracking Veil Original Soundtrack.
