Appearance

A dark crimson waistcoat provides the only rich color beneath the shadows.
He carries an engraved black chalice and an ornate ritual dagger, objects that may serve equally well at a noble table, a blood rite, or a carefully planned betrayal. Even while still, Valerian gives the impression of someone measuring every exit and every hidden cost.
Personality and voice
Disciplined, observant, and difficult to read, Valerian relies on strategic patience rather than spectacle. He notices dangers others overlook and understands the price of a ritual before its architects admit there will be one. His restraint can become distance, however, and his instinct to protect through secrecy may leave those closest to the truth unable to trust him.
